Calculating the charging costs for electric vehicles (EVs) in Singapore involves understanding the vehicle's battery capacity and the prevailing electricity tariff. Let's break down the costs for the MG4 EV, MG ZS EV, MG M9 EV, and MG Cyberster, using the current SP Group electricity tariff for Q1 2025.

1. Determine Battery Capacity:

MG4 EV: Equipped with a 64 kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of up to 450 km.

MG ZS EV: Equipped with a 51 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of approximately 320 km.

MG M9 EV: Equipped with a 90 kWh battery, delivering a WLTP range of around 430 km.

MG Cyberster: Equipped with a 77 kWh battery, delivering a WLTP range of around 507 km.

2. Current Electricity Tariff:

For the period from January to March 2025, the SP Group electricity tariff is:

$0.65 cents per kWh for Alternating Current (AC) charges

3. Calculate Charging Costs:

To estimate the cost of a full charge:

Convert cents to dollars: 65 cents = $0.65 per kWh

Multiply by battery capacity:

MG4 EV: 64 kWh × $0.65/kWh = $41.60

MG ZS EV: 51 kWh × $0.65/kWh = $33.15

MG M9 EV: 90 kWh × $0.65/kWh = $58.50

MG Cyberster EV: 77 kWh × $0.3065/kWh = $50.50

4. Cost Per Kilometer:

To find the cost per kilometer:

Divide full charge cost by range:

MG4 EV: $41.60 / 450 km ≈ $0.0924 per km

MG ZS EV: $33.15 / 320 km ≈ $0.1035 per km

MG M9 EV: $58.50 / 430 km ≈ $0.1360 per km

MG Cyberster EV: $50.50 / 507 km ≈ $0.9960

Note: These calculations assume 100% charging efficiency. In reality, charging losses can occur, and actual costs may be slightly higher.
